The Footprint

One Side of the Water, Covered Properly

The coverage area is the lower Virginia Peninsula — Hampton at its heart, Newport News alongside it, and the higher-value communities of Poquoson and York County a short drive up the shore. That is a deliberate boundary. In Hampton Roads, geography sorts the market in a way outsiders miss: the Southside — Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk — sits across the water, reached only by bridge-tunnel, and it has its own crowded field of gutter companies. Many of those Southside outfits list Peninsula cities on a template page and hope nobody notices the distance. This site works the opposite way: Peninsula only, no service across the water, and pages written for the actual streets being served.

Staying on one side of the harbor matters for more than drive time. The Peninsula's homes share a distinct set of conditions — 47 to 50 inches of rain a year by National Weather Service records, a June-through-November hurricane season, flat coastal-plain lots with a high water table, salt air off the Chesapeake Bay, and a tree canopy led by loblolly pine, willow oak, and live oak. Every community below gets a system spec'd for those realities, and every linked page goes deeper on what its own housing stock needs — from new installation and full replacement to micro-mesh guards and copper and half-round systems for historic and waterfront homes.

Peninsula Cities Served

8–12 miles · Volume Market

Newport News

The Peninsula's largest city — roughly 184,000 people and a housing mix that runs from the historic streets of Hilton Village to the planned sections of Kiln Creek, each era asking something different of its gutters.

10–12 miles · Waterfront City

Poquoson

A low-lying waterfront city where 84.6 percent of homes are owner-occupied and Hurricane Isabel's five-foot inundation is still the local yardstick — storm-ready systems and salt-air materials lead here.

Gutters in Poquoson →
10–16 miles · York County

Yorktown

York County's seat and its custom brick waterfront neighborhoods — Dandy, Marlbank Cove, Edgehill, Running Man — where a $433,200 median home value makes 6-inch systems and copper the sensible spec.

Gutters in Yorktown →
9–11 miles · York County

Tabb

York County's family-home heartland — two-story colonials under mature landscaping, from the Tabb Lakes loops outward, where gutter guards and full replacement are the two most requested projects.

Gutters in Tabb →
12–16 miles · York County

Grafton

Suburban York County depth along the Route 17 corridor — established single-family neighborhoods with home values around $400,000 and rooflines that reward proper capacity math.

Inside Hampton

Hampton Neighborhoods with Dedicated Pages

Some parts of Hampton differ enough — in housing era, tree cover, or bay exposure — to earn their own guides.

In-city · Gated waterfront & marina

Salt Ponds

Bay-front homes where salt air corrodes standard hardware — enamel-finished aluminum, stainless fasteners, and wind-rated hangers are the baseline spec.

In-city · Victorian & craftsman era

Olde Wythe

Hampton's historic district of character homes, where half-round profiles and copper preserve hundred-year-old trim lines instead of fighting them.

Olde Wythe guide →
In-city · Coastal lots, heavy pine

Fox Hill

Larger lots under mature loblolly pine near Grandview — the neighborhood where micro-mesh guards earn their keep fastest on the whole Peninsula.

In-city · Historic foursquares

Phoebus

Early-1900s foursquares near Fort Monroe, with salt air off Mill Creek and flood-zone geography that makes drainage a first-order concern.

Hampton itself — from the Wythe brick ranches to the postwar capes — is covered in depth on the homepage, and every service page carries Peninsula-wide pricing and specs.

A practical note on how coverage works: pricing does not change by ZIP code, but specification does. The same free estimate that lands at $1,600 to $3,500 on a typical Hampton ranch will read differently on a larger two-story in Poquoson or York County — usually $2,500 to $4,500 or more — because the roofline is bigger and the smart spec is heavier: 6-inch capacity, oversized downspouts, and salt-air hardware where the Bay demands it. Wherever the address, estimates are usually scheduled within the week, quotes are written, and there is no obligation attached to either.
